Dr. Oz Is Lying To You And Columbia University Wants Him Gone

“Columbia University has not removed TV celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz from his faculty position as a group of top doctors has demanded, citing his “egregious lack of integrity” for promoting what they call “quack treatments.”

“Dr. Oz has repeatedly shown disdain for science and for evidence-based medicine,” said a letter the 10 physicians sent to a Columbia dean earlier this week. They say he’s pushing “miracle” weight-loss supplements with no scientific proof that they work.

The New York Ivy League school responded Thursday, issuing a statement to The Associated Press saying only that the school “is committed to the principle of academic freedom and to upholding faculty members’ freedom of expression for statements they make in public discussion.”

I dont mind people speculating, but I sometimes wish TYT would use the word allegedly — this reading his mind and proclaiming to the world his full list of intentions as an evil money-hungry faux doctor is a bit annoying especially when none of these people (as far as I know) is any sort of expert when it comes to this.

There's "top money" and there's Oprah buck$. One does not compete with the other. No contest. We all have two pair of genes. They're called parents. Har

I totally agree with the Dr Oz being a quack. This show however is very full of speculation.
Some form of speculation is fine, but facts should have the upper hand in my opinion.

There ARE substances that help you lose weight in your sleep! They are known as AMINO ACID supplements and injectible PEPTIDES. The Medical Community is famous for poo-pooing ANYTHING that threatens their ridged Authority. When you are at the end of your rope they say "NO' you can't try a treatment that is in s grey area or alternative, but these assholes have NOTHING for you either! Some things work for certain people not everybody, the body is a mystery.

any research by universities that are funded by private for profit outside entities and not by government grants…has lost its rights to control how its discoveries are used …hence they lose their integrity and independence .

Christ this chick with the red glass is so full of herself, but I digress. She doesn't get it. The school isn't endorsing him they are endorsing academic freedom. It would be difficult to get rid of him. If she thinks this is egregious then she should look up Phillipe Rushton. The better question is what is the diagnosis for a society that gets medical advice from TV shows?
