Cambridge Diet – Pros and Cons

No Comments on Cambridge Diet – Pros and Cons

The Cambridge Diet is one of those diets that people can’t seem to agree on. Some call it a fad diet, while others point out that it was developed (if not officially endorsed) at Cambridge University, which they argue should give it more credibility. Whatever side of the fence you want to argue, this weight loss plan is a very low calorie diet plan that was only intended for use with the morbidly obese who use a “stepping stone” program to slowly eat more calories as the weight loss accelerates over the weeks.

As with many diets, this particular eating plan has both its positives and its negatives. Whether or not its right for you is an individual decision you will need to make after collecting the facts on both the pros and the cons of this eating plan.

1) The diet works. Dieters on this program will lose a lot of weight.
2) The diet is strict, meaning it can’t be sabotaged by misinterpretation or confusion.
3) This diet is practiced with medical supervision to help assure the dieter’s health.

1) Maybe too low in calories. The first couple steps have dieters eating less than the line that is considered “starvation mode.”
2) Not a balanced diet plan. This diet is all about shedding pounds, there doesn’t seem to be any considerations given to crashing metabolism or losing muscle with fat.
3) Strict. This diet is so strict many dieters will have a hard time staying on it.

These are the positives and negatives of the Cambridge Diet, and hopefully this information will help you make an informed decision about this eating plan.
