HARRISON, Ark. – After 10 months abroad, first Sergeant Edward Kendall returned home.
Andrew, his confident and overwhelmed son, had a big surprise when his father walked through the cafeteria doors of Forest Heights Elementary School.
Kendall is in the US Army and served our country in Afghanistan.
One of the first things Kendall wanted to do when he got to Harrison was to see all his family and he did not want to wait for his son to come back from school.
"The anticipation trying to do something exciting for him at school," Kendall said.
Andrew proudly showed his father to students and teachers.
Kendall said it was great to see the expression of his child when he walked out the door.
"I did it when I got home the first time and I caught Jacob in kindergarten, so I thought I'd do the same thing to Andrew," Kendall said.
He had not even gone home yet.
"I just came back. It's exciting and I'm ready to spend time with my family, "he said.
The first thing he wants to do when he gets home is meet his new puppy.
Andrew said that they had big plans on their return: playing video games.
Kendall said that he would stay home with his family for a while and that he was delighted to spend time with them.
